I am laptop-less at the moment, which makes writing kind of hard. I'm having to use a pad of paper! Yeah, with the amount of scoring out and reordering I do, that's gonna get messy.

All my fic ideas are either very long, or require a lot of plotting, so in the interest of actually finishing something, I was thinking of finding one of the unwritten blindfold_spn prompts to work on. Of course, I don't think I can actually write porn, but I might be able to manage angst!porn or something similar.

It's an awesome challenge.
2. It's safe from RPF and romance.
3. Someone will write a fic for me, and judging by previous years' standards, it will be extremely well written.
4. I already know what my prompts would be.
5. Having a set deadline, a prompt and a recipient might actually make me finish something.
6. I've read through the prompts that have been posted so far, and I can come up with a bunny for most of them

Reasons not to summergen:
A. I've never actually posted any fanfiction online.
B. I haven't finished, or had anybody read, a piece of my fiction in 10 years.
C. Some of the entrants are fantastic writers, how can I hope to compete with their
D. PRESSURE!

On the other hand:
I. I am a technical writer and proofreader, so I (should) have a good grasp of the nuts and bolts of writing.
II. I have a lot of fic ideas that I should really do something with.
III. If I pressure myself into finishing and posting something, it should make it easier to finish and post fic in the future.
IV. I've been vaguely planning to write SPN fic for, oh, about a year, so I'm probably never going to do it without signing up to some challenge or other.

In conclusion:
* If I fix reasons A and B by the end of the signup period, I can, well, sign up.

Also in conclusion:
* LJ App for iPhone is a bit shitty when it comes to editing, to the extent that I'm posting posts as private, and doing my editing on the computer before making them public.

Sam Winchester in season 4 (pre-4x18)

Much as I've loved the Season 4 plot so far (and much as I'm a total Dean fangirl), I do wish we got to see Sam's reaction to the plot occasionally. Off the top of my head, both On the Head of a Pin and Death Takes a Holiday contained huge plot revelations, after which Sam didn't even get any screen time, though we got a full reaction from Dean.

I mean, I get that Sam is the new John Winchester, and if he didn't keep secrets then there would be a lack of ongoing plot, but he's one of the two main characters! You can't just leave him out like that. (Also, bring back the original John Winchester! I miss him, and Sammy.)

When rewatching the season on DVD, this probably won't be as much of an issue, as I imagine the season finale will provide enough information for us to fill in the blanks . However, it is frustrating at this time of year. Ah well, roll on the finale.

Hello, I'm jita and this is my new LJ. This journal will be used for fiction, reviews, meta, and general fannishness. (I also have a real life LJ, but the username is a closely guarded secret.)

My current obsession is Supernatural. Past obsessions have included Harry Potter and Buffy / Angel, but I'm pretty dedicated to my new show. I'm also enjoying Leverage and Dollhouse, though not with quite so much fannish glee (yet).

I am not a shipper. I would choose plot over romance any day of the week, though I'm happy to read / watch gen, het and slash, with a few exceptions. (The main exceptions in my current fandom being RPF, which I will never do, and Sam/Dean, which just squicks me.)

So what do I like to read? Well, most things, unless I'm given a reason to dislike it, but particular favourites are preseries, casefic, missing scenes, and anything with a well-written John Winchester in it.

Feel free to friend me if you think I'll be interesting. I don't have any kind of policy on that kind of thing.

Posted via LiveJournal.app.
